As part of the rigorous development work a clinical study, approved by the Swedish Medical Agency was conducted in 2012. It is a bio equivalence study where Nicotine Strips were compared to a reference product, in this case Nicorette® Pepparmint Oral Spray.
Furthermore the study included smokers and was performed at Capio S:t Göran’s Hospital in Stockholm, Sweden. The study confirmed that our Strips deliver nicotine as safely and quickly as Nicorette® Pepparmint Oral Spray. For example When asked which product would be preferred for smoking cessation, 73% of the participants chose Nicoccino’s Strips against 23% for Nicorette® Oral Spray.
